Fashion is not only changing in the field of clothing, it is also changing in interior design. What inspired us last year doesn’t have to be trendy anymore in 2019. Some trends are simply timeless, others are passing away. The new year once again offers a bit of both. However, the majority of designers are now turning to timeless natural materials, which contrast with the dramatic hues that are coming our way in 2019.
Materials
Marble, stone, granite, glass and untreated wood will set the tone this year. With the inclusion of gold, matt black or white, an interesting combination is created. The advantage of natural materials is that they create a pleasant atmosphere and have a calming effect on us.
Home accessories made of metal in warm tones soften the cold from the stone. Combined with earth tones and different shades of orange, they enliven and brighten up any room.
The color palette
Green is this year’s colour in the so-called Nightwatch Green, which is an alternative to the trend colour of matt black. With glossy or contrasting decorations, the entire interior is enlivened. But that’s not all. Red, which catches the eye with a dramatic touch, rosé and coral will accompany us throughout the year.
Functional furniture
More and more people are leaning towards minimalist furnishings in their living areas. This also includes functional furniture. These adapt to the respective needs and the interior design. They do not get in the way, but on the contrary, they save space or even serve several purposes.
Ecological
The zero-waste movement, low electricity consumption and finally a holistic ecological lifestyle also play a role in interior design. Ultimately, it’s about a deeper connection with nature. A living green on the wall, the reduction of waste in the household, up- and recycling are very popular right now and we are firmly convinced that they will stay that way.
